Exhaust Hanger

I'm would like to mount my silencer with one of them hangers they use on bikes.

Are they suitable for our type of car with side slung exhaust?

Where can I get one for 5" silencer?

I use the standard R1 hanger on mine but it acts as a cradle, not a hanger, ie it bolts below.

When I made the chassis I included a welded tube in the chassis rail at the balance point of the exhaust so I could space out and bolt the ehaust on.

However I have been awaiting the day the R1 bracket fails as it is not designed for this.

What I need to do this winter is make a more solid U bracket to support the bottom of the can and incorporate the R1 stainless element for asthetics.

The can in my archive is a GSX1000 one so no point looking there for ideas, these have a welded bracket as part of the system, its just upside down.

Regards Mark
