Zetec/Type-9

I've just got a 2.0 Zetec out of K-Reg Mondeo, complete with clutch assembly, and want to connect it to my type-9.
Ive been told a standard sierra spigot bearing is needed.
Which is the best way to fit the starter motor, as using the sierra starter motor causes the gear to be engaged all the time. Can i use a spacer between the starter and the gearbox, or do i have to get the flywheel modified?

As the mondeo clutch plate is bigger than a sierra one i would prefer to keep it and leave the flywheel un-modified.

I'm sure many people have been down this route and any advice would be appreciated.

I can only speak from my own experience here but what I did is;
Fit the spigot bearing into the end of the crank shaft (straight from ford about a fiver I think) Used the standard fly wheel (2 litre) clutch plate from a sierra, and use the back plate from the mondeo if it is in good nick. You may also find that you will either need a slightly larger release bearing or you will have to cut bend and weld the release bearing lever. There are countless threads on this combination, and there are loads of websites with info about this. As for the starter I used a sierra DOHC starter bolted straight onto the gearbox and works no problem.
