Keeping dormant engine healthy?
Happy new year everyone!
Any suggestions as to how I can keep my engine in good condition while I take forever to build the car?
It's on my engine stand awaiting love and I have taped up all ports and drained the old oil.
It wants turning over by hand from time to time doesn't it? Anything else?

You could put a little oil into each bore to stop them rusting.

Personally I added a very small amount of engine oil into each bore and didn't turn it over at all until refilled with oil. It's a
blacktop zetec and it sat like that for a year and a half with no problem - runs great now.

Just spray a bit in whilst turning it over?
EDIT: maybe not then......

Just make sure you do not leave the plugs out...
