2.0 zetec port matching
I've got a set of Yamaha r1 itb's, that I'll be fitting to mt 2.0l zetec engine.
I had intended on fabricating my intake manifold from stainless (since i had a intake plate cut on a waterjet out of 1/4" stainless)
The ITB's are about 50mm diameter on the outlet side and the zetec is significantly smaller, I started with a 2" diameter stainless pipe,
and slotted arnd rewelded it to get it down to an oval of the correct size, but I'm not terribly happy with this solution.
I'm thinking of having a new intake plate waterjet cut out of aluminum, with an oval intake that would match a 50mm squished (in a vise)
diameter aluminum tube, probably shedule 80 or so aluminum to minimise the total inside diameter.
how much material s in the intake area of the zetec head that would be removable for port matching?
for clarification this is a 2.0l zetec from a 2001 North American Focus.

Why not just get a aftermarket twin Weber style manifold. They are very close to the port size/shape and just need a little work to get perfect. They
are designed to take 45mm Weber carbs or throttle bodies so opening up to 50mm should be easy. Cost about £140.
