Camshaft renewal

When changing the camshafts in a zetec should the oil seals be changed at the same time?
Or if they look in good condition can they be left??

Cam seals

It is a wise practise to replace any oil seals when replacing cam shafts.

A big job to do. A real SOB when you find after the job has been done, the seals decide they want to leak

You will get away with it most of the time, just not worth the risk

With no extra labour to fit the seals is it worth taking the chance on old ones? Presuming you don't mean the valve stem seals?
