Power Commander and SVA
Is it possible to set up a MAP that will lean out the engine enough to pass the SVA test without a cat (cbr1000rr)? Would it cause any engine damage,
if it is only used for the short duration of the SVA?
Of course I would never do it, as it would be damaging to the environment . Just a hypothetical question.

Depends on the age of the engine first.
Newer than 95 and it has to have a CAT.
If it is earlier than 95, you might be able to get it through.

are you sure on that...this is my umderstanding.
post 95, you dont actually have to have a cat, its just that, you cant get the emissions low enough without, ergo, you need to fit a cat a cat to
pass.
does that make sense?....lol

It's post-'95, so emissions do count! You should be able to set up a lean map that would pass SVA, but you may need a cat also. An hour on
a rolling road would sort it....

95 and beyond CAT must be fitted to all cars.....................
