Camshaft oil seals

link to original post

Following on from this post, I have contacted my local motor factor and they tell me that these oil seals can't be brought separately. I need to buy a head set. Is this correct? Could I get them separately from Ford?
If not has anyone got any they didn’t use and wants to sell them?

Burton Power will sell you the seal on it's own and Ford may do too. Motor factors will only sell you a complete set.

To be honest, for the pric of the whole kit IMHO you're better buying it and having the spares handy in the future. The chances are that if the cam oil seal has gone, the other bits will follow shortly and you'll probably need a new rocker cover gasket anyway.

Edit to say...
Just re-read your original post and noted you're referring to a Zetec. My resply above was based on my experience with Pinto parts so the complete head set price for a Zetec may well change the situation. Either way, Burton Power will still sell you the bits individually.

I would find a better motorfactors, i did my cam seals last year and bought them seperately.Alterantively try a bearing stockist as they will be available as standard bearing seals.

Yes £46 + Vat
I'm just up grading the camshafts in an engine that has done 50k so not expecting much else yet.
