A Sorry Day.

Hi all,

following on from yesterdays leaky sump incident, I decided to take the engine out and have a proper stip down and clean.

It's a sorry day to see the car like below.

Worse I can't seem to find the leak.?!?

oh and does anyone know how to remove the clutch and fly wheel from a cross flow?

P.S. many thanks Mr giant I'll be in touch about the hoist when it's time to refit it.

hmm I wonder how many folk say - 'I wish my car was that far along...'

to remeve the clutch and flywheel you will require........a spanner OMG NO!!

You find it all falls to pieces once the bolts are removed, even the flywheel will fall of after Mr Hammer has had a word

Undo 6 X 7/16" bolts around clutch cover, remove cover off of locating pins and catch plate as it falls off.

In the middle of flywheel you will find another 6 bolts (3/4" I think). to undo these you will need to lock off the crank shaft/flywheel as they are done up to about 80Nm, or use a good quality air gun. The fly wheel will then come off.

Most likely oil leak is from the rubber lip seal that fits over the rear oil seal housing. These are a ba$Łard to get right with the flywheel in place.

Hope this helps.

Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.
