GSXR K2 engine

Hi guys,

I have found a GSXR K2 engine for my project car. What do you think of this engine?
Is there any baffle plate for this engine or i will have to install a dry sump system?
Any reviews and suggestions will be appreciated!
Thanks

Not many have used them. Nice engine (numbers wise) but I think most avoid them for oil surge issues. If you can find a baffled sump then you might get away with it....

What about K5/6 - much difference there?

I know these are used alot in single seaters (Jedi etc) so someone must have figured out a reasonable solution for oil surge there. Anyone have info?

I ran a GSXR1000 (K2) in 2006 and a GSXR750 (K2) in 2007, taking the ASWMC Sprint Championship. They are fantastic engines, but yes, oil surge is a very major issue. Mine are longitudinal in the Westfield, right handers are particularly serious, Yorkshire guy is right - Llandow right hander after the bustop took out No. 2. Motorsport does this, period.
My Force (and the aforementioned Jedi) are transverse, so are better. However, the Force pulls a lot of 'G' and will surge. I've tried, baffles, wet/dry sumps, all have their problems.
That said, use the thing on the road and you'll have no problems at all, great engines, awesome. The sound of the 750 is fantastic, as quick as Hayabusa exotica mostly (see links from ASWMC).
K3-4 are the best, the later ones have weaker rods and valves (but more power).
