It lives

After the lengthy delays due to the Turbo shop manifold saga,I finally fired up the C20xe for the first time after the rebuild. After a couple of adjustments to the R1 carbs it ticked over like a dream. But after about 5 mins while I ran the cams in the fan cut in, am I being paranoid or do you think it should of run for longer before getting that warm.I spent most of the morning getting airlocks out of the cooling system, pretty sure I have got all the air out.

Cool! Well done....

When mine was running on completely standard kit and a polo radiator and the cooling set up as SBD with a heater (yes I'm soft!) it ran for a good 15 mins before the fan cut in... hope that helps.

Chris

PS thanks for the pictures by the way

If you need any more let me know.
I was looking at yours in your archive, the chassis seems quite a bit different to mine,I would be interested to see some more photos if you have them.

Not timing then..

Try boiling your temp switch with a multimeter attached to see at what temp continuity changes. Would be my first suggestion then, if you're sure there are no air locks.

Cheers

Rich

You could also be running a bit lean which could cause overheating, What rad are you using and where is the fan switch in the system?
