Engine mounted fan or radiator mounted fan?

I notice there was a bigger gap at the front of the engine than i had orginally thought and it turns out the original engine mounted fan fits
So do i use it or get a radiator mounted fan?

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Most people dump it... Will it be close the radiator at all?

It would be about 4" or so from the radiator

Electric fans reduce load on your engine's power when they switch off and aid faster warm up.
Fixed fans run all of the time, even when the engine is cold.

I know. Im not sure how hard a 2.9l jag engine would be to cool for a small radiator and mounted fan and whether it would cool easier with the original fan.
