crossflow temp sender thread
Well I remembered to measure it and the thread on the Ford temperature sender as used in the crossflow and probably most other Fords of that era is
..
..... are you getting all excited? ....
.... after waiting for so long ....
..... to be finally told ....
.... that it is .....
..... drum roll
1/8 NPTF.
How confident am I? Well, if I was ordering an adapter I would quite happily write out the cheque and not worry about there being any need to return
the adapter nor requst for my money back.

Note that two of these allow fitting of 1/8 NPTF into other sizes.
Thinkauto also do adapters and are sold singly.

Just to add to this....
the thread for the second water temp sensor on a EFi Pinto (fits into the inlet manifold and supplies the engine management computer) is.....
3/8" NPT.....
