pinto engine

Hi All, I have a query on the cooling system on a pinto engine. Does anyone have a diagram of how the cooling system is plumbed in. Our system is slightly different to others I've seen and our engine is running to hot so I think this maybe part of the problem.

Havent got a diagram, but on mine its quite simple.

Using a polo rad with one big outlet at the bottom a big inlet at the top and a small breather at the top. Ive used an astra header tank with inlets one at the bottom one at the top.

Bottom of the rad goes to the inlet on the water pump housing (bottom on the engine by the crank pulley) via a t piece, from the t piece a hose going to the bottom of the header tank. The top of the rad connects to the thermostat housing on the top of the engine and the top of the header tank goes to the breather on the rad. Very simple, no heater matrix or water in the manifold. All the other connections on the engine are blanked off.

Runs fine, never over heated and even had to blank off the rad partly to get the temp up on a cold trackday.
