05 R1 oil adapter thread sizes?

I want to pick up my pressure gauge (capillary type) from the main gallery end plug.
The original aluminium plug has a hex key which makes it too thin to tap.
I have a brass adapter that seems to go into the thread but only about 3 turns. (this has an internal thread for a 1/8 npt brass male end).
First, does anyone know the thread size of the gallery? I have been through the R1 04 manual and can't find anything other than the part number for the oil pressure test adapter.
I don't want to wind the brass adapter in any further as it may cause the thread in the gallery to split, so I am not sure if it is the right one.
I would rather get the correct one for the job.

Cheers Martin
