Sierra 1600 CVH Thermostat
Hi All
I need to replce the thermostat on my Sierra daily-hack. The Haynes 'Book of Words' is far from clear but it seems that I need some kind
of retaining clip and a seal. Is anyone familiar with the parts and are they likely to be dealer only.
TIA.

I just picked one up for a 2.0 pinto.
The motor factors had listed a 'thermostat' alone or a 'thermostat kit' which contained the thermostat plus the rubber washer.
The motor factors couldn't find a part number for the spring washer so you'd probably have to go to Ford if you wanted a new one.
In the end I re-used both the spring washer and rubber washer as they were in good condition.

Most GOOD auto accessory/motor factors will be able to supply a thermostat fitting kit specific to you car and this should include any retaining rings
as required.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.
