bike fuel pump

i have zx9 carbs & matching fuel pump but where should the pump be fitted?

close to the tank or the engine?

Most bike pumps push fuel. Ive fitted mine near tank low down so its gravity fed.

If its the same as a ZX6R it doesn't matter. Mine is about 8" from carbs and works perfectly.

thanks.

i've had the pump in the bay for 6 months now as it was easier at the time & it seems to work fine. the thing is the fuel lines need replacing & several people have seen it & mentioned that the pump should be by the tank pushing the fuel so i though do both jobs at once.
