More R1 carb help needed!
Hi all,
Having fixed the previous 'fuel coming out the wrong pipe' problem (was as suggested a stuck float), I now have another; this time a
'fuel out of the wrong brass bit' problem.
The brass tube in question is just to the right of the centre of the picture, and when the carbs are up to pressure (the fuel pump cuts out) there is
a small jet of fuel from this fitting....

Why??!! and how can I fix it?

Is it the same carb as you had the stuck float on? I'd still suspect either a stuck or wrongly adjusted float, or a badly seating needle valve.
Once the carb float bowls are full, the needle valves shut off the fuel, carbs should not pressurise.

It certainly feels like everything is a bit laboured at the moment (got another engine to replace the knackered one, hopefully that will go in at the
weekend!).
It was the one with the stuck float - I'll take it all apart again tomorrow - any tips on what I should be looking for??

The brass tube you show is an air jet. I can't remember if it is the main air jet or pilot air jet. Fuel coming out of here means your float
level is too high or the float valve is not closing properly.
