High Idle

Have a 1.8CVH engine running a pirburg carb ( i Know will hopefull change to pinto after SVA)which is idling around 1100. checked for leaks cant find any and it also keep running after the engine is turned off. How do you check the ignition timing. it has a esc hybrid ign module and haynes don't give a answer.

As long as the esc has the vacume conection it should be fine.

Air leak would make it run slower.

If you want a spare carb I have one you can have free gratis

1100 rpm doesnt sound that high but have you got the coolant sensor conected ?

Is the choke opening fully ?

As for running on, sounds like the esc and coil are still live after the ignition is of.

I hasd a simlar problem on a sierra and switched to the fiesta esc and coil pack.

Run much better.
