zetec silvertop to blacktop-Easy?

have a silvertop 1800 zetec at the moment, considering a brand new engine. So is it hard to chnage from silver to black, and what about 1800 to 2litre
Are most of the bits on my current engine?
Cheers
Clive

why not step up to the 2liter silver top< straight swap all ancillaries will fit, keeps the cost down. I think new engine mounts are required for the blacktop. If you do go down the 2 litre silvertop use the 1.8 flywheel Its a lot lighter. you could even consider as I am of just changing the cams to those from a 2 litre for a power hike, and stiching throttlebodies on if your running injection. is the 1.8 firked

I used the same engine mounts but needed to change the alternator mount and add an idler pulley for the alternator/water pump belt. Apart from those I can't think of anything else. Sump may be a problem but my aftermarket one and manifolds were a direct swap. Blacktop ECU map totally different to the silvertop one although it will run on both.

Sumps are interchangable, but the windage tray is built in to the cast intermediate sump on the blacktop, and the tin windage from the silvertop isn't a direct fit because the main caps are deeper on the silvertop. On mine I used the longer silvertop main bearing bolts with spacers machined, see my photo archive for pics.
