I would of thought the SRI 130 Cav had more power? Throw the 8v out, get a 16v

the sri 130 engine has a different head, I'm using this engine initially before the 16v goes in. I'd be very suprised if you could get the standard plenum chamber under the bonnet of a locost. I'd be interested to find out if you can!

I bet you could get the 8v in standard at an angle.... the LET goes in that way. I've got a picture of a LET in a caterham using standard plenum

Without the black TURBO cover on the inlet, and looks like the fixings for this cover have been machined off... but it looks standardish to me.....

The only thing to bear in mind is that it is probably running a dry sump and a small flywheel and clutch assembly, allowing the engine to be fitted sooo much lower...

Using a 2.0l SRI engine bolt straight onto manta box these are also fitted in early carltons so the clutch from the early carlton fits straight in. The injection gear does stick out of the bonnet slightly nother that a small bulge will not sort out.

You cant use the 2.0L box... it's all wrong ! In the manta anyway. I suspect they mught of used the same thing in the carlton. Check which side the starter motor is in a carlton 2.0L

Errrr no, not really looked yet... Only seen one at breakers, but they smashed the box getting the engine out

Ben,

I will check the 2l Carlton thing, but I suspect your right.

If I come across more than one 1.8lt gearbox, you'll be the first know .
