V8 Radiator Suggestions
Hi All,
Once again need your help and ideas.
I have my V8 up and running but the radiator just isn't up to the job (left over from it's 2 litre days!).
Can anyone suggest a suitable radiator and fans from a donor that will suit .
Sierra Cosworth rad is favourite but they are getting scarce.
Something similar size to the Sierra one would be great.
Any ideas????????????????
Cheers

What about a Land Rover 110, with the 200Tdi Engine. Its a large rad, but fairly compact, and thick.
Its not very wide, as it has the Intercooler sit beside it.
Dont know if that would do the job.
either that or get one specially made.
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Best Regards

Triumph TR7 Radiator, or the TR8 they were probably the same rad on them both and had the 3.5V8 engine in.
No idea on the size or shape i'm afraid, just that they ran that engine and were a sports car, TVR's had the V8 as well so there probably
quite small or good Rads

Hi Repper,
Thanks for the link.
Is a Polo rad big enough to cool a V8???
Anyone else fitted a Polo rad to a V8?
Any problems?
Thanks again.

what's it going into, a moggie??
Granada 24v and sierra 4x4 rads are pretty much the same as cossie as far as I know and very cheap, but they are all huge!
polo rad in a locost keeps 240hp cool in a number of cars on here, so as long as your v8 isn't making more than that then it will stay cool.
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
retro car restoration and tuning

Although it's a good thing to have plenty of water capacity with a bigger or more poweful engine, what really matters is how much heat it can
dispose of, and that depends on thermal efficiency and airflow rather than size.
I would be inclined to use whatever fits, especially if it's from a modern car, and make sure you've got good airflow

I have one in mine, and no probs unless it's a very hot day. I'm making changes to bodywork that should help
Hasn't been tried with the turbos yet though
