Exhaust strap

My aluminium exhaust strap has broken for the second time today [Westfield exhaust on an Indy Zetec].

What have people used as the strip aliminium [from B&Q] that I'm using obviously isn't strong enough.

If anyone sees a yellow Indy on the M40 / M25 with a bungee on the exhaust this afternoon it will be me!

B&Q sell mostly quite low grade cheap alloy
get some proper stuff (e.g. 6082) or make it from steel

All aluminum alloys have a a finite fatigue life --- in contrast steel if not loaded too highly has an infinite fatigue life.
