When did pintos stop being made?

Just been cleaning my engine and the engine number is pretty unreadable, some of it mite have actually come off, how i dont know. I was wondering if any pinto sierras had catalysts, if not i may be able to tell the SVA man this so he wont want to do the full emissions test on my car.

Doesnt help we dont really know where the engine came from. We got it from richs mate who had it in his buggy and he bought it off a fellow buggy racer. Any chances i will be able to convince the SVA man it doesnt need proper emissions testing with out engine number?
