Exhaust and inlet are opposite way round i think!

And standard i think were lucky if 150bhp .

Personally unless it really cheap i'd just put a zetec instead.

Yep - dead easy to connect the RS Turbo up....just a question of getting the right clutch combination....

inlet/exhaust are on the same] side as the crossflow / zetec etc...

If it's cheap, go for it; if you blow it up, you can source a zetec bottom end and go the zvh route....

Rs turbo lump is approx 125bhp standard.

Do a search for jamie1107 as he is installing one himself - worth firing a u2u his way

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

lots have done cvh like me (may be not turbo) to type 9 gearbox just a 1800 sierra flywheel and clutch plus spigot bearing. oly problem with turbo of wanting to use as much standard parts as possible is height if inlet manifold and pipework exhaust is same side as xflow.

Surely the torque is gonna be too much. I had a Series 2 only tuned to 186bhp at the fly and i could overtake without moving the steering wheel as it would pull out to the right so much In a car half the weight

did someone mention my name lol
rs turbo s came in series 1 125hp and series 2 132 bhp slight differences in the turbo and ke jetronic map
anyway
problems you will have are
turbo covers up the lh side engine mount

A possible place is to could come off the alternator mount as i have done and fab up a different mount for a small alternator from say the amazing nissan micra

I also changed to poly v belts at the front and made up a new bottom pulley because like the xflow these can shatter

If you are using the standard fuel system then you will probably have loads of problems there
you need to find room for the accumulator metering head etc and plumb it all in none of the standard pipes will then fit and the fuel pressure is about 100psi on those head ache city

fly wheel wise im using the later efi fiesta block and flywheel which has a 220mm clutch i have sleaved the spigot bearing down to the right size i spun up my own but i believe you can get them from ford

finally you will also have the water and boost cooling to sort again the standard rad wont fit and the intercooler is bulky and prity useless

There are ways round these things the reason im doing it is my company started out tuning rs turbo s and as its the 5 th aniversary we are using the cvh lump in something more interesting but about the only bit the engine has in common with the standard rs turbo is the head casting even the block is fiesta xr2i

Any how if you do use that engine give me a shout and i will try and help where i can

strange to see a bias toward the NA route - I'm used to the ford forums (xrtwo.com) where everyone would reply about how cheaply you can have 200bhp with a CVH turbo as against spending mega buckes gettin a zetec up to that.

There's no doubting a decent CVH turbo is a cheap route to 200 horses.

Yeah, but the car with half the weight will be rear wheel drive, unlike the Fiesta.

It may steer because of the torque, but it'll be because the rear end's lost traction
