Zetec 1.8 head gaskets

Anyone know if blacktop and silvertop head gaskets are different?

Escort headsets seem to be cheaper and have more useful inlet and exhaust gaskets for what I need.

Thanks

Stu

I think there different but dont know why, I bought a silvertop one from gaskets for classics and they wanted to know if it was silvertop or blacktop. They give a good service ,I ordered it one morning and it was here the next and the head gasket , bolts and carraige was only about £25 total. Most of the other gaskets for the top end can be reused with a bit of care and some gasket compound if neccesary.

The best I've found for Blacktop gaskets and bolts is about £45 delivered.

Was £25 just for the head gasket and bolts and not for a full head set?

I phoned the guy at Gaskets for Classics and he reckons the silvertop gaskets fit the blacktops.

£19.00 for the multi layered blacktop gasket and £7.50 for the fibre silvertop one.
