rs2000 16v DOHC

has anyone on here had any experience with fitting bike throttle bodies to this engine, i love the engine to bits, ive had cvh zetec and currently this in the car but finding any info on squeezing a bit more bhp outa this engine is proving a nightmare, all anyone ever says on the internetis "very hard to tune when compared to a zetec" the only tuning thing i know is that you can build a 2.3 hybrid using the galaxy bottom end, use the 2k head cams and management with a chip for extra fueling and a cosworth or mustang throttle body

does anyone know anything else?

I'm not sure which engine you are referring to. What car was it originally fitted to? Escort mk 5/6 which was an 8v I4 DOHC??

It was the Mk5/6 and it was an I4 with a (then) new 16v head. For some reason, it never really seemed to develop the same following as other Ford motors although IIRC it was around 150bhp standard. Sorry, can't be of more help - tuning bits seemed to skip a generation at that point!

It's the 16v version of the old 8v i4 as used in Sierras, Granadas etc. It was an interim 16v solution whilet the Zetec was in developement, and besides being rather heavy isn't a bad engine IMO.

I would think that fitting bike throttle bodies will present pretty much the exact same challenges as any other engine, i.e. fabrication of a suitable manifold and plumbing it all in. Unless the manifold is particularly complex on these?
