Zetec Turbo or ZVH?
What are the relative benefits of the above in terms of performance versus expense versus ease?
I currently have a 2 litre Zetec on 45s. I guess the options are go down the turbo Zetec route like others on here have - so drop the CR, obtain a
turbo, have a manifold made up etc
But what about ZVH? Presumably source an RS turbo head complete with manifolds and turbo?
What do you think the merits of each are?

Id go zetec turbo myself. so u still get a 16v modern head. Its not that hard to do. Iv been looking into it myself as i want to do it at a later
date. You can use rover inlet manifolds and a few other bits and away you go. Theres actually some rover bits on the bay atm. Search for zetec
turbo.

to keep the costs down, i would go for the more proven record!! Zetec turbo seems to be the better option to me!!

I have do it by following this http://www.zetec-turbo.co.uk/
But i would say if you are going to use a decompression plate with standard pistons. only run about 12 psi max, which will give you about 230 BHP.
Don't forget to change the rod bolts to ARP ones, i knocked a big end out as i stretched a bolt. Well worth doing tho.

It ended up costing me quite a lot, like £2k, but admittedly the majority of this was caused by the upgrade from an xflow on carbs to an injected
zetec rather than the fact that I decided to turbo it. I also bought a lot of tools which I included in the price.

It was worth it - I'm now running 12psi and it goes like stink - a proper scary shove in the back when it comes on boost.
You should budget for a new gearbox though, mine's on it's second Type 9 already, and this one is now making some horrible noises. I may
look at fitting a MT75 as they are supposed to be stronger and they are still throwaway money on ebay.
In terms of ZVH vs ZT, obviously I'm biased, but I'd use the 16v head every time. The ZVH also needs some brass blanking plugs machining
to blank some of the block's waterways as they don't line up with the CVH head, so it's not as simple as just bolting it on. You can
use an RS Turbo exhaust manifold on a Zetec head, you just need to redrill the top row of stud holes on the head.
I'll take you out for a ride at the next Tiger meet if you want to see what it's like.
