pinto valves
hiya there,
i am looking for some 110mm length valves for a pinto 2.0l, as i have read that this is the optimal length of valve for this engine. Any ideas?
secondly, i have also read that the pinto LOVES a high lift/low duration cam and the majority of cams i have seen tend to be low lift high duration.
same again any info you guys have will be much appreciated - as we know two heads are better than one!

Don't know any specifics for you. (My Pinto is bog standard and doesn't run properly as it is!).
But have you tried Burton Power?
Cheers,
James

Your pretty much right about valve length, however there is more to it than that, have a read at the ford pinto tuning guide on
www.pumaracing.co.uk/PINTO.htm that will give you a bit more information. I'm sure he also has suitable valves available.
As for cams, it again depands what you want look at the Kent cams web site, they do lots of cams for pintos and the lift and duration are all
specified. Some of the race cams like the HT1 and GTS7 etc offer really high lift, but it will depend where you want the power in the rev range. Some
of them will give really lumpy tick over.

thanks to everyone for your advise!
delboy,
yeah i had a read on pumaracing thats where i got most of my info, the only thing is, he says about a high lift short duration cam, but what would
be considered high lift and more importantly low duration (in degree's).
i would be looking at a road car with most common revs being 3000-5000 - at a guess. i have never driven a pinto engine so it's hard to specify.
i would like something with plenty of low-mid range power!
