Rich or lean stumble?

Been tuning a crossflow last weekend. Sorted now but with alot of trial and error.

Basically there was a flat spot between 2000-3000RPM or so.
As the title says, is there any way of identifying what the hesitation on the engine could be with regard to fueling?

What carbs have you got on the engine?

What ignition system?

(It helps to know these things... )

Originally I got my x-flow (with a Weber DGV carb) sorted at a rolling road. When I fitted bike carbs I sorted it with an air-fuel meter - but I had to weld a boss into my exhaust system so that I could use it.

Normally a lean engine has yellow spark plugs, and a rich engine has black spark plugs.
But it could maybe also be: length of the inlet or exhaust manifold. I have got no idea how you can check this.

Maybe you should get friends with the local tuning company...

I have a Techedge which I find good, although only slightly cheaper than Innovate.....But treak it like a tool, once you buy one, you can keep it forever.....IMHO worth every penny....
