atmospheric pressure sensor

can the atmospheric pressure sensor on a zx10 bec. be placed anywhere.
i am guessing it can but just thought i would check.

If you are talking about the MAF sensor no.

I run megasquirt on my blade engine and use the ECU's MAF sensor, just extended the TB's rubber hose to the cars footwell where the ECU lives.

V12 jags had the ECU in the boot, these also used MAF sensors from the inlet so a good 6' of rubber hose.

It may even be a slight advantage having a longer hose on TB's as the pulses will get smoothed out a bit.

The ZX10R manual 2004/05 shows two atmos sensors;

1; fitted and mounted on rocker box and connected via a vacuum pipe

2 fitted and mounted under the seat, open air. I guess you can fit this one anywhere

MAP sensor = manifold absolute pressure not ambient. It is either mounted on or connected by rubber tube to the engine side of the inlet manifold.




MAF sensor = mass air flow
