Ditto.

Richard Quinn - 3/9/08 at 01:51 PM

Ok, $64,000,000 question...
Would it be worth it? There are a couple of bits and pieces that I could do with but is it worth a day out of the garage?

adithorp - 3/9/08 at 02:26 PM

I always found that I more than made up for any lost time in the garage with the extra enthusiasm from looking at finished cars.

keep an eye out for me Adrian, the black beast will be upon you.

cashy - 4/9/08 at 07:04 AM

Is it free to get in if your in a kit car?

If this is the case do you have to park on the grass or the access roads?

adithorp - 4/9/08 at 07:23 AM

Free entry to drivers of kit cars (passengers genarally have to pay) is normal practice. Once in you either park on a club stand that your a member of (MK Owners, etc) or there'll be a general kit car area. They'll both be on the grass usually.

Ijust spotted Clive's (jollygreengiant) post here...

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=95558&page=1

"'Hi Clive,
Camping is on a field to the RHS of the actual showground (not shown on map). Cost is £15 per pitch. We don't mind owners club tents to go along with the clubs, but no campers in the display area please.
The camping area is accessible 24/7. Yes you can set-up on Friday.
Campers can walk into and out of the showground unhindered. The gates to the actual showground will be opened at 8am both days.

Kind regards,
Den Tanner' "

Camping is going to be £15 per pitch!

£15 to camp in a field
Looks like just the saturday for me then.........

welderman - 10/9/08 at 11:29 AM

planning on setting off approx 9.00am, with kids, route planner says 1 hr 20min, doors open at 10, queue 30 min, should be in for 11.
Forgot, "dad i need a wee wee stop", so really no idea.

adithorp - 10/9/08 at 12:01 PM

My plan (weather permitting) is...early start (8ish) from Manchester/Stockport, M56, A556, A49 to Prees Heath. BIG greasy breakfast at the "Raven Cafe" (A41/A49 junction) about 9-9.30 then on to Stafford on the A41, A518. Bit of a long way around but a more " interesting" route.

Anybody fancy making it a convoy?

adrian

welderman - 10/9/08 at 12:06 PM

you will be well on your way for me Adrian, but will see you there.

MikeLR - 10/9/08 at 07:02 PM

Again weather permitting on Saturday I,ll be coming down the A41.
I will put a post on the NW Tiger forum to see if any other care the run.
Regards
Mike

corrado vr6 - 10/9/08 at 08:29 PM

Im goin, only the Sat tho as goin to MK sat morning to pick up our donor parts!!

smart51 - 13/9/08 at 02:47 PM

Just come back from the Stafford show. It was a nice day out but quite a small show. The hall was full of stands and the field full of cars but then it is a small hall and small field.

The highlight of the show was the Vindicator F4. Ooo that's a unique car!

bigevil - 13/9/08 at 05:29 PM

thinking about going tomorrow with me mate in his avon.is it worth going as we`re coming from kings lynn and dont fancy going if it`s too small.

asn163 - 13/9/08 at 05:39 PM

As above, it was a good day for a run out and I enjoyed it, but I think I would have been disappointed if I had had to pay to get in.

HTH

Vindicator F4 ...... they are having a laugh with that one ... surely the can't seriously think someone's going to buy that.

Now the MEV Sonic 7, that is a nice car, easy to find donor too.

Cheers

cashy - 13/9/08 at 07:03 PM

right cant decice no whether to go or not...............

is it any good, lots of stands?

adithorp - 13/9/08 at 07:19 PM

I had a great ride out via Cheshire and Stafordshire (inc, breakfast) and return via the Peak District. 160 miles in all.
The show was OK if a little quiet. Needed a bit more promotion I think and an icecream van or two.
I can't see the Vindicator F4 selling (or what 'screen they're going to use) but then I don't like their other cars either.
The MEV Sonic7 was really nice design and an easy looking build. I can see that selling; might even be tempted myself!

welderman - 13/9/08 at 07:26 PM

good to see some peeps there, mev has its eyes on adrian, that horrible looking fighter jet cockpit thing was awful.

SVC and Europa only had 1 stand each. There was a stand selling rubber profiles and a couple selling tools. 2 small nut and bolt stands, a few odd things, one of exhaust bits, one selling the DIY powdercoating tools.

Both MNR and Europa said it was a bit slow. For Europa, that generally means they're not queueing 3 deep.

That was it in a nutshell. I had a nice drive home the long way round. It was a rare warm sunny day and a mooch round a small show was quite pleasant.

McLannahan - 14/9/08 at 12:33 PM

I drove 350 miles all round. I was a little disappointed to be honest but in my mind I thought it'd be Donny combined with Stafford - not really the case!

Really good to meet up with people though and I took loads of photos of Adi's Fury - Cheers Adi!

Exeter I think is next on the calendar...Is anyone going? I'm hoping to take KC to that one!

chris_smith - 14/9/08 at 01:11 PM

expected a little more in way of stands, F4 IMHO is awful volvo(i think?)rear end didnt suit, i got a few bits carpet and "P" trim etc weather was good for a change on shows nice to meet welderman and his "smoking" animal lol shame i had to come away earlier than expected due to bored son

Exeter's a bit too far for me. Sorry I didn't get to speak to you. Hope you didn't photo the bloody great chip I put in the rear wing this week; dropped a 17" wheel on it!

adrian

McLannahan - 14/9/08 at 09:20 PM

That's ok Adi - I should have popped into the tent and said hello.

Didn't spot the chip but not downloaded the photos off my camera yet!

Cheers!

bigpig - 15/9/08 at 07:57 PM

Thought it was a load of shite personally. Sod all stalls. On the Sunday some started packing up at about 3 and by half three they were doing it in droves (said 4:30 on the adverts). By 4pm it was dead.

Considering I got there at a 2pm (due to putting an engine in) I was a bit miffed to say the least.

cashy - 16/9/08 at 07:09 AM

I wasnt impressed either, i think i was there for 30 mins in total. Then decided to go for a spin in the westy as it was a nice day.

MikeLR - 16/9/08 at 08:02 PM

Just looked at PistonHeads- Gassing station-
Stafford Show. Very interesting to see how others viewed the Show and the "New Car" !!
Perhaps they have not been to any of the others yet ie Stoneleigh.
Mike

Vindi_andy - 17/9/08 at 03:52 PM

Will admit it was rather small

I had expected those that were going to donny to go to stafford instead guess they decided not to.

Got a few bits but generally was disappointed at the lack of traders selling the bits i wanted
