Propshaft mounts
Murphy - 29/1/12 at 07:57 PM

Whilst fitting senders and having a root around under the car I noticed that the big bit of the prop near the back end is fixed to the car by a bracket and a block of wood either side of it before then being fixes to the car.

Wood!? Can this be right?

It seems a good fit and properly cut out but wood?

Has anyone seen this type of thing on a locost bec?

Is I safe or should it be of other materials or method.

Cheers. John

Crikey have you got a pic? Its hard understand what your talking about. I have never heard of wood being used for anything like that.

I assume you mean to space the propshaft centre bearing mounting and the chassis plate, depends on who built the car, mines mounted on ally spacers, I've heard of other people using washers, but I suppose wood would be just as good
