Anyone still selling sump baffles for the 5vy. I'm putting a fresh engine in and my existing one has done 5 seasons of sprinting. It looks fine but I'd rather replace it if they are still available. Plus i'm hoping to make my old engine a spare so a new baffle would mean less bits to swap if it's ever used.
Andy Bates sells them.
i got my kawasaki one off e-bay, he does others and was laser cut for £35.00
Does Andy do plates or modified sumps?
Do you remember his eBay ID?

AB does baffles for 5vy. I got one from him last year. There may be cheaper on e-bay but the quality/service is good from Andy and his advice is free
so I still see myself as better off (I'd own him a fortune if he charged for advice).

Thanks Adi, I'll give him a bell.
I fitted one of these to my 5vy Yamaha R1 CNC Machined Sump Baffle Plate
fit and manufacture is perfect
on top, I fitted a proper air/oil cooler with thermostat [that's important] instead of the stock oil/water cooler. To do this I machined an end
cap for the new sandwich plate to allow me to use the original oil/water cooler bolt. Have some pics of this somewhere. The issue being that usually
a sandwich bolt is designed to go onto a male spigot/thread sticking out the block and then take an oil filter on the end. The R1 engine has a female
thread [M20x.15 I think into the block]
I did the breather mods to the the cam cover, vented to a decent catch tank. My engine is filled so the window is full when off and cold.
After Blyton it hadn't blown an egg cup full into the tank!
Added an oil pressure gauge too
No issues at all, other than low coolant due to trapped air, sorted on the day
few pics
found some pics of the end plate i made. the ports are due to the way the stock retaining bolt flows
