OK Watched it, engine seems to be breathing a little heavy from the crankcase vent....

tweeted....and watched

Confused but excited. - 11/3/13 at 06:43 PM

If you have to ask people to watch it, then surely you have already lost your bet, by cheating.

You're NOT supposed to prove them right!

Agree that seems like a lot of smoke coming out of the vent, is the crankcase pressurising?

Aren't you risking overspeeding the turbo with nothing connected to the compressor?

rb968 - 11/3/13 at 07:28 PM

My V6 was doing that the other day but it was about 2degrees in the garage so assumed it was just the temperature hence the steam.

Thanks guys.

It's a sacrificial turbo I bought for building the manifold. The bearings are already gone. I have noticed the valor coming from the breather and presumed it was just condensation

Any ideas what that could be ?

See videos are useful

Exactly my thought. Normally it is the inlet pressure that slows things down and activates the wastegate.

Perhaps when the engine has no load you can't give it enough gas to cause problems.
