4age alternators

Hi folks

Just wondered if anyone has fitted any other alternator to the 4age engine other than the std Toyota part? I'm looking @ getting a reconditioned one and even with my Bosch staff discount it's tooooo much dosh. And yes I've also asked RAW.

So does anyone have any alternative suggestions? Will any Ford one fit?

You can use the alternator off a Rover 200 series (Honda engine), the pulley and brush pack need to be swapped IIRC but otherwise the same.
