gearbox conversion

got board at work so had a go at making a type9 to audi bellhousing i think it came out ok. iam gonna get it skimmed tomorrow to make sure the two surfaces are true.

Looks great.

I have never watched or read how to do this so just out of interest how did you align everything without jigs as I believe you are only allowed less than a few thou out before you can expect problems.

i drawed two circles one for the type9 and one for the audi box. i placed the type9 on the sheet then built a jig to the center hole to hold it in place. then i put the audi bottom bit on the sheet on the inner circle. tacked tabs to hold it in place. then i made the top plate out of alloy with the big hole to locate on the jig then built the sides up. so hopfully when its skimmed it souldnt be far out. the audi bottom bit has lathe makes i the housing where its been held so i was thinking of getting it redone to make sure the big hole is in the middle because that locates the type9. and then i can open out the bolt holes to suit.
