propshaft torsional damper
i have a sierra xr4x4i prop, and i think im going to send it off to get the back part shortened (it has a cetre bearing, so im thinking keep the prop
the same up to that, then shorten it after. In the manual and others threads on here, i have seen that i should have a rubber plate thing, that the
prop bolts up to the gearbox end, presumably to damp torsional forces or something similar? My question is, do i need this rubber thing, or can i just
bolt the prop straight up to the gearbox. Or use a metal plate to bolt to, i think big wasa has his like this?
If i do need a rubber thing, where can i gt one from?

I have a Sierra prop shortened by MK.
As far as I can remember, the back section is standard, with the centre bearing being where it is in the car. The front section was chopped and a
sliding section welded on. To that sliding section is fitted another UJ and that bolts to the sproket adaptor.
