S2000 engine info

hi all

had my blackbird engine blow up on me the other day and have come across an S2000 engine box and loom, i was wondering if anyone on here is doing a similar instalation and has any advice, do's and dont and genral tips on the install

I know it has been done, however there is an issue with engine management, i believe the likes of omex emerald cant deal with it and therefore isn't as well known.

There is no issue with omex ecu's, i am going to use one on mine.

Using an aftermarket ecu is definitely the way to go. I looked into using the standard ecu and it is quite a pain to get it running properly.

Your aftermarket ecu has to be able to run sequential injection, unless you want to convert to using a coil pack and extra trigger wheel. If you want to do that I can actually sell you all the parts you'll need (ecu, loom, coil pack, leads and trigger wheel)

Other things to bare in mind are the height of the engine and the width of the gearbox...ot is quite wide, my haynes chassis needed mods to get it in.

It is a brilliant engine and will take a supercharger without low compression pistons all the way to a safe 350whp

DTA also runs the engine using all stock Honda sensors - it's what I use. I know others have used Emerald without issue as well.

Stock ECU is do-able, but quite a project to get your head around to handle all the interconnected looms and sub-looms from the donor, the emissions control systems, immobiliser etc. It's down to your own personal cost vs. patience vs. hassle trade-off.

As has been said, engine height and gearbox width are watch-points if fitting to an exising chassis. You may also need to factor in changing the diff ratio if you're doing a swap, depending on your tyre size. The S2000 runs 4.1:1 as standard.

sounds pritty good so far,

im happy to do any chassis mods
The F/D ratio and tyes i have should work quite nicely
I would quite like to stick with the stock ECU at least for the moment as i dont think i could afford to go stand alone just yet, any chance of a pointer in the right direction for getting some good info and wiring digrams???
also anyone now the name of the flange on the gearbox output so i now what to spec for having the prop made???

Omex 710

Weve fitted and mapped Omex 710 to 6 engines s2000 engines with no problems ,weve also converted the stock crank trigger wheel to 36-1 and run the cheaper 600 version
