winter paint protection, options?
Hi
Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I’m being forced to use my normal car during the winter rather than Landy
Is there a coating (spray on would be nice) that I could use on the paintwork to isolate it from the road salt? The underside is totally sealed with
waxoil
Looking for something that is a bit more effective than just polishing it, maybe some kind of motor bike protection spray etc
Any ideas? in the past I did buy a big drum of WD40 and just soaked the car everyday
Was even looking at some clear vinyl wrap which would be easy to do seeing the car have very limited curves

I use a decent wax on the tintop , usually collinite 476, 2 heavy coats and the salt just rinses off. Not sure I would fancy driving a wd40 soaked car
all the time it stinks!

what about clear silicone liquid? yeah you'd get a rubbish shine but not much effects silicone and it's totally water repellant and cheap,
I can get 5 liters for £16

It may be ok until you have to do any paint work but may then cause problems.

true, it may mean a serious wash in the summer!
I do use that bumper spray I think that is silicon, usually I wipe the car down with white spirit before spraying and that seems to get it back to
bare paint

Aren't there some of those "delicvery" waxes available. Like waxoil, but thinner/clear/harder?
Try dinitrol, they do a few....

I have used por 15
They have al kinds of sealing and coatings to prevent rust.
