Front grill!

Hi all,

I'm looking at increasing air flow to the radiator.

I have ducting now made so happy there.

The question I've been discussing with both my dad and grandad is the grill I use in the Locost nose cone look like it will really restrict the airflow

to the radiator. It looks like a sheet of Ali with lots of holes drilled

Has anyone got any idea what the best grill is to use to get maximum amount of air through?

Oli

Something with a big open area... I used stainless steal wire mesh (1mm wire, 10mm spacing)...

I bought a Caterham one from Daemon Thieves.

Was a bit pricey but fitted straight into my GTS nosecone.

Holes about 50mm x 25mm. Wire about 2.5mm thick.

Cheers,
James

I went down the skip site and got a condenser unit from the back of an old fridge. then cut it to size and sikaflexed/ sealed it in place.

If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

I used plain 1/4" hardware cloth to protect the radiator and to allow for maximum airflow. This is behind a custom "7" grill formed from galvanized brake line.
