Has anyone used one of these?
OIL CATCH TANK VW GOLF GTI GTD VR6 9MM &' 15MM FITTINGS INCLUDED RED SQUARE

Are they up to the job, or just not worth the money?

Its for use on a road going duratec engine.

Cheers

At the end of the day, it's just a catch tank....some people sucessfully use a coke can or plastic water bottle to do the same job. I agree there some dodgy cheap ebay chinese items out thier but as a catch tank I think this would be absolutly fine.

I had a similar one, the tank itself was fine, just the fittings ie jubilee clips are a bit pants.

I thought the clips and the pipe might not be up to much, but I'm not worried about replacing those with something half decent.

I've seen them at shows. Look OK, if a bit over engineered (even bling) for a catch tank.

I bought a similar one to that and it was pretty heavy compared to more expensive versions.

Depends how weight obsessed you are.

Won't get much lighter than a redbull can or similar Guess it depends how much your engine breathes?

If you run crankcase and rocker cover to it, it won't breath

I eat to survive
I drink to forget
I breath to pi55 my ex wife off (and now my ex partner)

I could either T them together and use one fitting leaving the other for a breather, or drill the top for a breather.

Not as cheap as a aluminium bike water bottle

Just remember it's function is quite simple really. Not sure I could see a breather filter, might be worth fitting on if you feel like it...

Looks very much like the one CBS sell ,have had one on my car for a few years now with no problems although as said the hose and clips aren't brilliant
