Builder brickwork advice needed
Hi all
Had a viewing at a property this morning and this messy brickwork made me stop. Its a kitchen extension that was done at the end of the 80's
There is no movement between the two walls and I'm assuming its been in together but i want to make sure this isnt going to ring alarm bells
for our surveyor before we put an offer in. it
anyone with building experience that could give some advice?

Unless you've set you heart on it keep looking. Looks like a bodge job to me, metric bricks with existing imperial (bloody cowboys). Even if
it's structurally sound the sight is enough to put me off.

Put an offer in with the cost of rebuilding it in mind.

I've been in the building trade 15 years now. And her. I see stuff like this I've learnt that if this is there acceptable standards in
planesight what you can't see is even worse

Good point yes, but surely if its been standing for 20+ years and nothing has moved then surely it's going to be ok? Ugly yes, I'll render
over once the gaps are pointed.

I have recently just renovated a property I got as a repossession. If it wasn't for the price I got it for I would of walked away. They had cut
corners on the gas pipes behind the cuboards in the kitchen the place looked ok but once carpets where up and the grubbens on the house exposed it was
a mess.
Just becarfull

thanks for the input so far. I'm getting a builder friend to have a look. For the price that's been accepted its worth the work.
