Exhaust Rattle (Cat problem)?

Hi Guys,

Can anyone help me with an annoying exhaust rattle? A rattle is coming from the cat area in the front section of my exhaust, hopefully the link shows you the exhaust. At low revs it is just annoying. At higher revs it feels like it is causing a lot of vibration :-(

I have a good local fabricator near by who can do st.steel mods (I have already had the back end changed so I can re-pack it). If it is the cat that is breaking up how do you fix it and where can I get a new one... I have seen cats for sale on e-bay etc however most of them look like they are designed to not be inside of the main exhaust.

Cheers
Alex

The two manual tests for broken up cat are the "thump test" thump it with your hand if is the broken it will rattle like a maraca and the back pressure test - unscrew the upstream lambda sensor and start the engine if the matrix is broken up the pressure will considerable.

it passes the first test I think!
Will try unscrewing the sensor though

Any ideas on how to change it?? taking a grinder to, cut it open .... and then?
