IVA - Panelling off under dash
Evening,
Just craking through my Avon project. A friend of mine suggested trying to cover up as many gaps as possible like under the dash - if the inspector
cant check then it is assumed as okay.
Is this the case? Can they ask to remove parts to check?
Logic would say encapsulate everything but surely there must be some things they *need* to see?

Panelling is only useful to meet the radius requirements. On the 4th page of the iva manual it states;
The presenter may be required to open lockable compartments, remove engine covers, inspection/access panels, trims, and carpeting and dismantle
certain parts of the vehicle to allow DVSA examiners to carry out a full and meaningful inspection

If it looks neat and covers any leg jabby sharp bits it would be of merit and doubt any tester would want to take it off just to look under it
