Cheap Carb Balancer
Guys
Found a cheap carb balancer that I thought might interest some. It's less than 15 quid delivered as opposed to the 40-50 quid you'd pay for
a Carbtune or similar.
e-Bay Link Here
If you see the guys other items he's always got some for sale. Presume he makes them himself, dead simple bit of kit, even I can use it
Used it myself to do my Fireblade today - I've never balanced carbs before so I can't compare it to the commercial items but it seemed to do
the trick. Tickover was extremely lumpy before and would stall if set below about 1200, now I can turn the tickover down to 800 (bit lumpy here
ibviously) or so and it'll not stall, and it's lovely and smooth at 1100.
The thing basically looks like this when in action: -
Carb Balancer
Before balancing it looks like this: -
Carb Balancer (out of balance)
and after tweaking looks like this: -
Carb Balancer (in balance)
Dead simple, but does the trick! Basically line up the ball bearings and viola!
Nice and locost

My Gunson proper job was only £12 new.
But good idea that and you can see and do them all at once.

Look for a device called a Uni-Syn. I havent seen them lately but I used one in the 60s and 70s for all types of multiple carb setups for cars and
bikes. Check Ebay (usa) item # 4617310471.
