Where to buy a quality used/recondition bike engine?

Following on from my engine seizing/oil problems I'm now in need of a replacement engine - see thread...http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=44737

For reasons of simplicity and cost i'm going for a straight replacement CBR1000 engine. Where would be the best place to source such an engine? Rather than just getting a basic engine with no history, I would be willing pay more for an overhauled or reconditioned one.

Any ideas?

Phil

Id think you'll struggle to get one ready reconditioned as there aren't any suppliers Ive heard of that would supply a CBR1000 like that off the shelf, probably best to get a scrapper engine and then pay someone like Andy Bates (AB Performance) to rebuild it for you, but if going that route you might as well look to see if your current engine is suitable for reconditioning.

If you get the engine out now, it should be some summer left when it is back in the car again...
