is there an alternative to ebay?
reading about various problems with ebay, myself having been conned/ripped off on a couple of occasions, is there an alternative to ebay?
having said that, there is no reason why the same tricks won't be carried on there.

I was thinking exactly the same thing yesterday and i came across craigsattic or something like that but didnt have time to have a look. Il have a
quick search now and see if i can find it

which is ideal if you are after religious artefacts, but I can't see what use a gold plated crucifix would be for a crossflow, other than
perhaps ward off Lucas the prince of darkness.

Going back a few years before e-bay became too big (ie when it was good) there used to be Yahoo auctions. Was really good IIRC. Don't know why
they shut it down, plenty of people used it.
One feature I did like was last hour bidding. Lets say an auction as due to finish at 10 am, if there are no bids after 9am then the auction finished
at 10am, but if there were any bids in the last hour then the finish time was bumped back one hour to 11am.
edit: seems it was closed in june 2002 and they then asked all users to use e-bay, so i wonder if it was a buy out.

Trouble is, wherever you get a load of people buying and selling you will get rogues and villains - go to any big car boot and you'll see plenty
of examples. The bigger the venue, the more crooks you'll find hiding in the crowd.
eBay has plenty of crooks because the bad guys can get lost in amongst the good guys. If an alternative came along and became popular then it would
all happen just the same way.
Auto-jumbles are good because it's much harder for the crooks to hide - they're more exposed and many of the traders know each other.
