Bedford GT circuit

Has anyone done this circuit in a 7 type car? I've done it a few times in tintops, but I'm not sure how much fun it would be in a 7? I know the MK would be maxed out half way down the main straight...

I did my first track day at Bedford, I think the GT circuit (about 4 miles long?). I found that as a first timer I couldn't remember corners properly by the time I got round to them on each lap. Also, as you say, the long straight is very long for a 7... I got a nominal 110mph on the clock but acceleration was very gradual over the last 20 or so.

IMHO shorter/tighter circuits would be better for a 7

It's my local track, I did my first trackday there last year in my Mk1 MR2 (only about 120bhp/ton) as I had never been on a circuit before and thought that the big runoffs might come in handy! Had a great time, got hooked, and bought a Zetec Fury which I have done four Bedford trackdays in.

I don't tend to bother pinning the throttle down the back straight, but I get to 120mph down there before I ease off. The rest of the track is fantastic IMHO, a great mix of fast kinks, long sweepers where you can wind on the power and build the speed through, and tight hairpins you can wrestle the car into before blasting out.

It makes a great beginners circuit because of the huge runoffs, and the open layout which gives you time to think between corners. I keep going back because it's big enough to keep it interesting (plus it's only thirty miles away).

Its the most boring circuit Ive ever driven, too flat, too wide, not very challenging at all,Cadwell Park is the best circuit for a Seven

Thanks for the replies. I agree, I think the width of the track doesn't help. It wouldn't be anywhere near my first choice, but as plenty of friends are likely to be going on a bulk meet up, I'm deciding whether to bite the bullet and book...
