Hi chaps,
the Mrs has bought me a track day for me and my car @ Rockingham in June for my B day.
Problem is i am a complete novice and have never done a track day before.
Any help in settings, etc i should use.
I think i should adjust the settings of the shocks as they are set for road use, i am going to check the rear camber angle.
What tyres pressures should i use.
Car is Velocity running pinto and bike carbs, any help gratefully recived.
tbh, If you're happy with it as it is I would not go trying to change stuff just because it's a track
Nothing to worry about, dont get stressed, go and enjoy it at your own pace.
Take a support vehicle (mrs) with tools, tie wraps oi;l fuel and coffee thets about it
Check on the/your noise, I think they are quite strict there
Thanks , was definetly taking support vehicle and the Mrs, should be great day.
Not looking forward to wearing the skid lid though,
oh its running at 98db or thats what i t was at the SVA and have changed nought on that part of the car.

Mirrors, mirrors and ermm mirrors !
For a first track day just keep the car as you know it and just enjoy yourself.
im going to curborough today for my first track day, im going to use it as a day to get my car set up, lol!
have a good day. make sure you have all the tool you could use to take the car apart. also take metal wire and cable ties as mentioned above.
metal wire comes in handy if anything gets knocked off and you need to strap it up if its hot the cable ties will just melt.
have fun.
Take it easy. but best of all if its damp get that back end out....
If its your first trackday, I would get some instruction booked, its only around £20 for 20 to 30 minutes instruction and would be money well spent, some trackday companys,"Circuit days" for example even give you free instruction so it might be worth checking with who you are booked with.
i would not change any suspension settings as already said. Tire pressures should be around 18 but more if wet or a cold day.
Check water and oil. Take a jerry can full of fuel, i did two tanks in a day!
Check all important nut and bolts. A full track day of 8 sessions is the sssame as two race days!
Most of all enjoy it and make sure you get home again all safe.
I did my first one ever this month and i could not beleive that much fun was still legal. Everything good these days is illegal!
Enjoy!
