This evening Olly was kind enough to do an imprompu photoshoot for me in a local industrial estate.
I have recently wrapped my car for the 2nd time as a fancied a change from the blue. I went for a look inspired by the
Caterham 620R but put my own spin on it
by using a 3M matt red metallic colour I found from a Speedhunters feature car:
http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/12/a-walk-on-the-wide-side-the-bag-riders-e92/
The gloss dayglo yellow stripe is from Hexis (who I usually use). But this was my first time using a 3M wrapping product and I was impressed with
it.
for those not familiar with it the major specs of my car are:
- Stuart Taylor IRS chassis
- 2.0L vauxhall red top, circa 190bhp, 155 lbft.
- Elite IL200 5 speed sequential gearbox
- custom carbon fibre filament wound propshaft
- custom DSY 3-piece rims by Force Racing
- Formula Renault kevlar bag tank
should be about 533kg now which is light considering the engine and cage.
anyway here are the pics, I am absolutely chuffed with how they (and the wrap) came out

Looks smart.. id like a matt finish on my clio.
Not sure on that cage though.
Where are your cycle wings?
Could you cover all the pannels with one piece? Or did you need to join the vinal any where? I like the colour and the wheels
Looks great, some superb shots, my favourite is this one.

Why no guards? - well taken shots.
a brave man driving with no front arches!!
Thanks Paul
Loving these replies chaps, but please, a wee bit of putting into context
Pat has completely wrapped and transformed the look his own car, along with putting in a sequential gearbox in, neither of which is a walk in the
park, alone, by himself.
Yet all people can comment on is the lack of cycle wings, and the roll cage that actually a weighs less than half of the other mainstream cages
available. Sometimes this site really cracks me up.
The police actually turned up during the shoot just to ask why I had closed the road, they didn't seem fussed by anything, infact, more
interested in the car.
Don't understand the 'brave' comment at all. LOL"
Given the amount of stones my front wheel seem to flick up, I do wonder how much difference the front arches actually make?
